Current Transformers

Current transformers are designed for measuring alternating current and converting it into the electric signal proportional to the current intensity, which can be then transmitted to aircraft monitoring, indication or protection systems. They are used in aircraft electrical systems for load monitoring, diagnostics and safe operation of electric equipment.

The operating principle is based on electromagnetic induction: the alternating current in the primary circuit produces a magnetic field which induces a current in the secondary winding. The resulting electric signal is proportional to the primary current strength and is used for measurements and data transmission to control systems.
